EOHI member Sierra Bell publishes essay: “Rust Belt Revolt and the Failure of Big Data”

In the wake of the U.S. presidential election, EOH member Sierra Bell argues that we must move away from big data “and attend to smaller things—to listen to stories that numbers cannot tell us, to actually speak to our fellow Americans at a time when dialogue seems impossible, and to denaturalize the harmful economic disparities and cultural blinders that stand between experts and the world around them. What we need now is ethnography.”
